Mike Hunter
Coach Hunter is entering his eight season as the Head Coach at Friendship Collegiate Academy. The Knights have won 3 DCSAA state championships (2016, 2018, & 2019) since Hunter took over the program in 2014. Coach Hunter was also selected as the NFHS DC Football Coach of the year following the 2016 & 2018 and the 2019 DCSAA Football Coach of the year. Prior to becoming the Head coach, Hunter served as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator from 2007 to 2013. Since 2007 more than Friendship 240 student-athletes have went on to participate at the collegiate level, 8 in various professional leagues.
In addition to coaching, Hunter serves as the Director of Athletics for Friendship Public Charter Schools, an active Commissioner for the DC State Athletic Commission and President of the DC Football Coaches Association.
Coach Hunter is a native of Washington DC where he attended Gonzaga College High School and Catholic University of America.
